Janamashtmi and Teej Festival Celebration

Janamashtmi and Teej Festival celebrated at Sacred Heart Sen. Sec. School, Jalalpur, Mandi Gobindgarh on 23 August, 2019.

‘Janamashtmi’ and ‘Teej Festival’ celebrated at Sacred Heart Sen. Sec. School, Jalalpur with great joy and fervor. All the students were dressed up as Radha and Sri Krishna. The school premises was decorated with flowers, buntings, swings, pictures and jhankis depicting life of Lord Krishna. The Chief Guest of the function was Mrs. Madhurima Dhawan (I.T.O) and the guests of honour were Mr. Darshan Singh Babbi, Mr. Varinder Sharma, Ms. Sheetal Sharma, Ms. Chandan Sareen, Mrs. Monika Sharma, Ms. Kanwaldeep, Mr. Ravinder Bhatia, Mr. Gagan Chopra and  Mrs. Priyanka Chopra . The celebration started with lighting of lamp followed by Krishna Bhajan. The kindergarten students performed mesmerizing group dance, group songs, solo song, that was followed by choreography by grade I and II, beautiful act on Krishna Leela. The students of grade VI to VIII danced on Punjabi music and the girls of grade IX to XII recited bolian and performed ‘Giddha’ and ‘Bhangra’. The parents had a great time participating in Mrs. Teej competition. The main attraction was an event of ‘Dahi Handi’ that was appreciated by everyone. All the guests relished Punjabi dishes such as Kheer, Maal-Poora, Lassi etc.

The Managing Director, Mr. J.P.S Jolly congratulated everybody and appreciated the efforts of teachers and students in preparing such events. The Principal, Mrs. Shalini Khullar also gave message that traditional festivals should never be forgotten by the youth. The chief guest Mrs. Madhurima Dhawan extended her best wishes to the students and appreciated the efforts put up by the teachers.
